Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR) Vaccination

Our staff are trained and authorised to give MMR vaccines. The MMR vaccination is free for people 16 years of age or over. Those born in New Zealand before 1969 are considered immune to measles and do not need to be vaccinated.

The MMR vaccine is a vaccine against measles, mumps, and rubella (German measles). The first dose is generally given to children around 9 months to 15 months of age, with a second dose at 15 months to 6 years of age, with at least 4 weeks between the doses.

Two doses of the MMR vaccination is required for 97% of people to be protected against measles, 88% against mumps, and at least 97% against rubella.

Not sure if you’re immunised against measles?  It’s okay to get immunised again.

Vaccinations are available at North Otago Pharmacy:
Tuesday to Friday 10:00 am – 1:30 pm
Sundays from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

No booking is required—walk-ins are always welcome!

If you prefer, you can also book a time that suits you.
